Eccentric new dimension
Do you think that everyone deserves a second chance?
Well, I guess we will find out. This game is about journeys of love, curiosity, and kindness, helping a married couple pass through new dimensions in order to save humanity – or at least a version of it.

Writing Reflections
1. Here’s what I was trying to do
I was trying to create an emotionally-driven 2D platformer that could tell a deep, personal story without relying on combat. I wanted the game to explore profound human values – love, curiosity, and kindness – through mechanics, level design, and narrative. The game needed to reflect an emotional journey that players could feel, not just play.
2. Here’s why
Because I believe games can be more than just entertainment – they can make people reflect, feel, and connect. I wanted to challenge the conventions of platformers by removing violence and focusing instead on empathy and discovery. The story of Klaus and Elissa allowed me to combine narrative depth with mechanical exploration, and it was the perfect setup for experimenting with meaningful player choices and symbolic storytelling.
3. Here’s what I was interested in achieving
I wanted players to experience a story that feels personal – where gameplay and emotional stakes are intertwined. My goal was to create an atmosphere that invites introspection, and to design environments that speak through metaphors. I also wanted to prototype mechanics that support this – like health-restoring herbs, destructible environments, and breakable platforms – that reflect emotional vulnerability and growth.
4. These are choices I made
-
I chose Elissa as the main character because her perspective brought a deeply emotional lens to the story – she’s not just a follower of Klaus’s mission; she is the mission now.
-
I removed combat to focus on puzzle-solving and exploration, making every interaction intentional and non-violent.
-
I created symbolic environmental storytelling, like the jungle representing the element of love, split into three themes: the Devoted, the Self-Absorbed, and the Existent.
-
I designed enemy AIs and level elements that metaphorically represent challenges humans face – fear, protectionism, exploitation – all without losing the player’s emotional engagement.
-
I structured the levels as philosophical journeys, where each area represents a theme rather than just a place.
Characters, Story & Script

Elissa
A brilliant French-Canadian engineer/sociologist and Klaus’s devoted partner. Now, she must follow his trail across dimensions to finish the mission they started together – and to find him.

Klaus

What happens in a video game stays in a video game – or sometimes it stays in your mind forever.
Design Vision & Game Mechanics

This 2D platformer combines puzzle-solving with emotional storytelling. The game introduces:
-
A protagonist that cannot attack, only explore and interact
-
AI enemies with specific behaviors (panthers, snakes, tribesmen, etc.)
-
Interactive environmental mechanics like vines, boxes, cables, rafts, and destructible elements
-
A survival experience that requires health management and strategic movement

Level Design

Dimension One: LOVE (Prototype Level)
Set in a vibrant jungle, players must face the dichotomy of nature – its nurturing beauty, wild unpredictability, and silent endurance. Through encounters and exploration, Elissa learns nature’s lessons and collects memories – literally, as she snaps a photograph at the end of the act.
Future acts will take the player through:
- A harsh Desert
- A bustling City
- Dangerous Snow Mountains
- The mysterious Antique City
- And finally, Elissa and Klaus’s Wedding, celebrated in the second cinematic
Personal Thoughts
This project is a heartfelt journey. It explores what it means to be human – and more importantly, what it means to be good. It’s an ode to love, knowledge, and kindness, woven into a world that begs to be explored and understood.
